All of California’s families deserve high-quality child care options for their children. For the families of children with disabilities, this need is even more pressing.
Despite efforts to include children with disabilities in subsidized child care, less than 2% of children under 5 in subsidized child care in California have a disability.
SRI Education, the California Department of Education, and the California Department of Social Services are working to better understand and improve the inclusion of children with disabilities in subsidized child care in our state through a 4-year grant from the Administration for Children and Families.
